When doctors diagnosed Adam with leukemia, it halted him in his high school tracks. He faced years of tough treatments and so many surgeries his mom nearly lost track. Make-A-Wish® intersected Adam on one of the worst days in the hospital.
The volunteer Wish Granters asked him if he could have anything, what would it be? For the first time in a long time, his mom, Connie, saw him smile that day.
Adam wished to see a volcano. And it was on that trip that hope started to creep back into his life. He jumped off waterfalls and snorkeled in the ocean. He got a front seat view of an active volcano from a helicopter.
Adam says his trip let him press play again on his life that had been on pause for years. “Cancer broke us, but Make-A-Wish put us back together,” said wish mom Connie.
